How I (try to) walk through life

This is in no particular order, and I am certainly still working on them. This is a live rough list, open to change.

Handwork will take you far, but the most powerful combination is working hard at what you are good at (plus some luck along the way).

I can be a yes person. This isn’t always a bad thing, I much prefer yes people than no people. But I want to be a yes person with boundaries. Hence, if it’s not a hell yes, it probably should be a no. I am still working on this one.

How I treat others, unless someone has given me a reason otherwise.

This goes without saying, but for me it also means treating all with a level of respect.

My mentor gave me this piece of advice when I was leaving the team. It’s one of the best pieces of advice I have ever recieved.
It first makes me think that there is an assumed level of privilege to having a choice about work. I am fortunate that I have flexibiity and can “choose” a job.
Then I think about how it is up to me, and only me, to find purpose in my life and career. It is not one elses responsbility.
